Hi taty, im sorry to hear about your news. It sounds promising though that your kids have gotten so old without it becoming apparent. I've heard of cases being diagnosed as late as peoples fifties where doctors haven't bothered to provide treatment because the patients are doing well themselves.

I myself have CF and its really not all that bad, I've lived a great life and had loads of fun along the way. I'm thirty now, been married eleven yrs, and am just about to go into my second yr at uni doing biochemistry.

My husband carries the CF gene unfortunatly, and for that reason we have not tried to have children. But as I am getting older I feel like I ought to and I asked my doctor, one of the best here in England, if it would be a stupid risk to take, and he said not at all that the prognosis for kids born nowadays is excellent. So just enjoy being a mum and make sure your kids know that they can do anything or be anything they want.

If you want to ask me anything about living with the condition feel free to private message me. I'd be glad to help put your mind at ease. Good luck and take care xx

Thank you all for your responses, I been trying to stay calm, it is hard, very hard, specially with my kid's next appointment coming, (still hoping this is a misdiagnosed thing) and my 4 year old 4th sweat test coming as well. More testing for my cf son Jesus (6yo), and my cf daughter Esperanza (8), since they haven't been able to identify their genes. Could a sweat test be wrong?
