SOB = shortness of breath

Also with FVC is FEV1 = Forced Expiratory Volume (in 1 second). Those are both abbreviations used for PFT's (Pulmonary Function Tests) which are basically the standard we use to determine how sick we are. Other symptoms and tests too, of course, but a PFT gives you a nice quantifiable number of how good (or bad) your lungs are.
Some people also say "TX" for "treatments" as in aerosols, etc... but generally tx means transplant.
