hmmmm....i´m wondering how you get CF. from what i understand it is passed on from the parents, to the child.i was diagnosed with CF last year. but none of my parents was carriers of it from what i understood.can you get CF anyway???the doctor also said something that there was "tops" missing in my DNA..someone know what that means???
Ok, nearly all of the time, both parents MUST be carriers of the gene. this doesn't mean that they have CF. Your parents would need to be genetically screened with a blood test to make sure.There are such things as point mutatuons in genes, and this can cause genetic disorders althought there is no prior history. "Your parents would need to be genetically screened with a blood test to make sure."Hmmmm the hospital took blood tests of me and my parents and sent ém to a lab. i think the lab results said that none of my parents were carriers.but they thought that the result from my blood was strange, so they sent it to another more advanced lab,i´m still waiting for the results from that lab.
