Please help! My son Ethan has been tested 4 time for CF. Two times came back positive one negative with another one borderline. They said that all his ambry testing has came back ok. I am just so confused and unsure about what to do next. He has always had trouble with his sinus and with in the last year he had 2 sinus surgeries and admitted in the hospital for a week we was unable to break his fever. He is a wonderful child and all the testing have not bothered him one bit which make is alot easier on me and his father. I have requested to be tested to see if I am a carrier but they always say that is not necessary what do you think. I need all the help I can get. Ethan is not under weight he is right where he is suppose to be.

If they did the complete ambry and he has NO CF mutations, then there would be no reason to check you for carrier status. I'd request to see the ambry results and make sure that they did the complete sequencing with deletions and duplications. If they did, then maybe you could push the doctors to check some similar diseases that might bring you some answers....Schwachman Diamond Syndrome and Primary Ciliary Diskinesia both seem to have a great deal of overlap with CF.

Good luck!!!
