me too!!!

p.s. also it is a good for of birth control! It differs from the progesterone only pill in that the levels are much higher that it completely stops your ovaries (therefore completely effective) . And i am proned to blood clots through picc lines so regular birth control with estrogen is not a good option for me. just thought i would throw that out there to you in case you deal with blood clotting issues too... <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

i am prone to clotting with piccs etc... i tried mirena and it was too excruciating to be placed...not sure why i couldnt handle the placement of it???</end quote></div>

I knew my Mirena placement was going to be horrible so my doc gave me Tylenol #3 and Ativan prior to placement.

It still was AWFUL and hurt a ton..... BUT i'm willing to do anything to help curb this hemoptysis. It's such a nightmare.

WHen you cough up blood how much do you usually cough?

Me too!

So far the Mirena hasn't helped BUT my periods are super irregular like it's supposed to be on Mirena for the first few months.

I can't wait to keep you guys posted to see how it goes....

it can be anywhere from a few tablespoons to half a cup. Its pure red blood and comes out with a vengeance! it is horrifying and you never know when it ma happen. some menstural cycles i dont do it but evrytime i have done it (which is too much to count over the last 10 yrs) it has been while i was on my period. sooo strange i kept noticing this coorelation. I was never sick or doing any streneous coughing. my pfts are in the 90s and in am for the most part healthy other than the hemoptysis. My whole life i was considered to have a mild case, but when i started having a menstural cycle around that time is when it all seemed to change. i wasnt getting sicker really but they saw the hemoptysis as sign of infection...it would be strange to think all these years really not being as bad off as the docs make it out based off the bleeding. The obgyn specialist i saw today said teh endometriosism in the lungs would also make my lungs xrays look worse because of the scarring due to endometriosis. which would explain my xrays never match up with my great pfts...just thinking out loud <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
