Hey all,
I'm a 34 year old adult CF Female and haven't coughed up blood in a long time. Usually when I do it's a few teaspoons here and there. It usually comes in bouts a few times for a few days and then resolves when i increase my vitamin K. It also happens when I start vigorous exercising after I have been sedentary for a while.
My question or I guess complaint is that I recenlty just had a bleed (minor) after starting up some vigorous exercising and it's also near my period--I've also heard this can have an impact.
I feel great and my PFTs last week were awesome. So, why when I call my doc to let them know do they jump to the most dire cause? To me, it's obviously caused by strenuous exercise and an increase in ibuprofen for muscle pain. Anyone else have any thoughts? I'm 99.9% sure it's no type of infection.
The docs have agreed to let me be the owner of my health and keep an eye on things and come in if it happens again. Does anyone else feel as if the doctor's make you more anxious about CF than yourself?
