Hi,

I do take some herbal medicine since about 3 weeks, the latin name is " Harpagophytum procumbens". I always had problems with my knees (hurting), which seems to be quite common with cf. Now I feel better, (no longer like 80 years old, when getting up) so it seems to help! I tried ibuprofen for that problem before, but didn´t notice anything.

I AM A USER OF ESSENTIAL OILS, I CAN'T STAND PILLS, AND DON'T BELIEVE IN POISIONING THE BODY THE WAY PEOPLE DO ON A DAILY BASIS,,,,, MY BROTHER HAS C/F, HE DOESN'T LIVE WITH ME BUT EUCALYPTUS OIL, CLOVE OIL, CINNAMON OIL, AND FRANKENCENSE OILS ARE REALLY AMAZING FOR LUNG CONGESTION, SPASMS, AND SO FORTH, TIGHTNESS, AND A TON OF STUFF.......DON'T JUST BUY ANY OIL THOUGH BECAUSE MORE THAN LIKELY THE QUALITY IS EXTREMELY POOR!!

Erm, I think glucosamine and glyconutrients are considered herbal, aren't they? You could try doing a search on them, and see what that turns up, oh, yeah, and a search on what Uli was talking about; try searching for those and include cystic fibrosis. Good luck.

Just for the record, discuss any remedy you start taking with your doctor, and NEVER think of them as more than a supplement to your existing medications. "Natural" doesn't necessarily mean "harmless," as herbs can have side quite damaging physiological effects if misused, and they certainly can't replace modern CF care.
