Her(Hermit) exercises are to take 2 to 3 deep breaths 5 times an hour...something she hasn't been able to do in years ! Strange the things we take for granted.

Hey Everyone,
Well a few days has turned into a few weeks, but 20 days after Chris' first surgery and 7 days after the second (yes, second) things are finally looking up. I walked into Chris' 12th floor room (which she moved into yesterday from the ICU) to find her sitting in a chair, chatting to her mom and drinking a coffee!!!!!! I can't express how amazing it felt to see her.
She wants me to relay the message to all of you that she's doing alright!!
She ESPECIALLY wanted me to tell all of you out there who were thinking of her that more than once she felt your positive healing energy. In one particular case, she said she was sure she was at death's door, but she reached out and felt all the love, support and hope... it calmed and soothed her and she was able to hold on.
I know that the road from here is not going to be smooth and everyday is one with new challenges and fears (and progress and hope!!), but I am so grateful for today. To see her sitting in the sun, chatting away is such a gift. She is a (soon to be) walking miracle. Her doctors must feel like gods... but for all they did, Chris' strength and everyone's love and support is what brought her through.
She will always need that strength and love for the days, weeks and years ahead...
