Wow that is rough. Especially when CF took you first child at such a young age. I hope Dakota remains healthy for a long time.

Wow Jana, that is a blow. How in the world did they miss that. Dakota will fight this until we get a cure. I was wondering how you were doing after Xander passed. Bless you for dealing with this again. I want to say welcome back, but would like it to be for other reasons.

Thank you my dear CF friends for the support. While I struggle daily over missing my precious baby boy Xander I am focused on taking care of Dakota as well. @ Cheryl ~ They were unsure of her status but because hers read differently than Xander's and at the time showed no symptoms decided she must be a carrier ( I however think they only had presumptive results) but anyways they re-ran it and found that they (Xander and Dakota) both are affected but Hunter is only a carrier. Dakota's symptoms remain mild as was Xander's until his last day when he threw mucous plugs in his lungs which caused his breathing to fail and then subsequently caused his heart to stop causing his death.

Jana, My heart aches for you and I am so sorry for your loss and your daughter's diagnosis.
I read that Dakota's test was repeated. What test was this exactly? A sweat test or DNA test?

Her test that was repeated was her DNA test...all my kids either have normal or borderline high sweats even though Xander did pass away from complications of his CF. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0">
