This is perfect proof how important, even at a young age, that a CFer know what meds to take, what they look like (if they change in appearance which sometimes happens) & the consequences of such......

ESPECIALLY enzymes since often there is an immediate affect at the wrong times <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif" border="0">

Good for him, Liza & luckily for you, Megan!

Yeah, I heard hysterical laughter coming from the room where he was getting his teeth cleaned -- I was across the hall with a different hygenist. I imagine they're not too used to children actually wanting to go to the dentist's office.

As for the enzymes, there've been times I've served him lunch and he'll say, "excuse me mommy, but didn't you forget something...my enzymes".

My 4 year old is always reminding people to give him his enzymes. He has never had to go to school or day care, but he will start this year, I am worried because my son is very picky and is not used to strangers. Was it hard for your child when they started school and did they get sick more often?

Just had to share my own enzyme/fart preschool stories...

Yesterday, before school I was dividing Emily's enzymes for the day into little portion cups. She can't swallow the pills whole yet (she could, but refuses - NO! THAT"S YUCKY!!!") so each day I open up her pills and empty them into little portion cups, like you get for ketchup. We send these to daycare/preschool so they don't have to deal with opening and counting. She gets a "7" if I've sent a particularly fat heavy snack or meal and a "4" if she barely eats or pretened to be a vegetarian that day.

Anyway. Yesterday I was doing my thing and she saw me. She pushed a chair over to the counter, climbed up and said, "Mom, can I help you organize my enzymes?" It was one of those sentences that made me wonder wheter it had EVER been uttered in the history of mankind before, let alone by a three year old!

Second story...the fart! Emily ate a bigger breakfast at daycare than usual the other day. Usually she has a yogurt and some fruit. This particular day she asked for some of her friend's sausage and egg biscuit (the kid wasn't going to eat it anyway and the director knows Em needs fat, so....). Then, the director left an assistant teacher to give Emily her enzymes. The teacher knows that Emily gets a 4 in the morning (apparantly she thought the number had to do with time of day, not food content) and gave her a 4. That afternoon, Emily was having a hard time falling asleep at naptime. The director laid down with her to settle her down. For about 2 minutes. She eventually had to leave because Emily's farts smelled so bad. And, of course there was the fact that Emily erupted in giggles after each fart!!!

Gosh, I just love the stories I get to hear when I pick her up each day!

Thanks for letting us share the fun, Liza!
