He is one of the oldest living adults in our state of Alabama. This past June Richard was also diagnosed with Stage 3 Colon Cancer. He had surgery removing a little over a foot of his colon and intestine. He did 4 out of 12 rounds of Chemo treatments. Due to the complications from the Chemo he spent more time in the hospital for lung infections than out. He just finshed up a 24 day stint right before Christmas. But has not been back in yet. He has been doing well for the most part sibnce quiting the Chemo he still gets really short of breath. But not on any O2 at this time. He goes the end of this month for a full body pet scan to make sure that there is not any more cancer anywhere else.
Anyways I was wondering if anyone else has had any other problems like this. Thanks so much.

Hi Kori, welcome to the site. I know you will make lots of friends here--I have. I hope we can provide support for you and your husband, and help your pull through the hard times...

We had a member here whose husband had cancer and cf--he unfortunately passed last year. Her name was karenb, sometimes she comes around, but I haven't seen her here this year...

I look forward to getting to know you better--what does your husband think of our site?

Welcome Kori! I hope that you find this site informative and supportive. There is a "partners" section here as well.

My husband (30) has CF. I am sorry to hear about all of the difficulties that your family has been through, and am glad to hear that things seem to be on an upswing!

Welcome again!

Hi Kori - Thanks for sharing a bit about yourself and your husband. I have always wondered why I don't hear about more CFers having issues with things like colon cancer. It makes sense to me that we'd be at a higher risk, given our digestive issues, higher likelihood of intestinal blockages, etc.

Anyway, welcome to the site <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
