hiatal hernia

I've been told I have a hiatal hernia. I have had my gall bladder out a few months ago and during the tests to figure that out, the docs discovered the hernia. I still get occasional bouts of serious pain and I believe it's because of the hernia. It's like heart burn and there is tenderness to the touch at the top of my stomach where my ribs meet. My gall bladder is out so this is the only thing I can think of thats causing this pain. It's not a typical heartburn and nothing relieves it but time.
Has anyone had experience with this? Anyone had surgery? Any help would be greatly appreciated. All the information I find is with overweight and older people and I am neither of those. I am going back to my gastro doc soon.

Hi, I had a hernia fixed last month. It was an abdominal hernia that had been slowly growing for the past few years.

I don't know anything about hiatal hernias, but I do know that having CF is a cause of hernias. I had the surgery and within 6 weeks I'm back to my old self, and am running again without the nuisance.

Sounds like you're a runner too I'd definitely recommend getting it taken care of. They aren't that serious but I do think that if left untreated they can get worse. It felt great to get that checked off my list and now I'm hernia-free
