High glucose level

There are definitely younger CFer's with CFRD.

An oral glucose tolerance test should be done yearly to check.

A damaged pancreas / excess inflammation in the body can be characteristic of a CFer at any age and these issues can lead to diabetes.

It's true that the overall incidence of CFRD is higher among older CFer's, but that doesn't mean younger CFer's don't have it.

An OGTT is recommended by the CFF once a year.

Definitely get an Oral Glucose Tolerance Test. That being said, I don't think that 192 is high after a particularly sugary drink. I have CFRD and when I drink a soda without insulin, my levels are 300+. However, having a sustained sugar of 192 probably isn't healthy either, so definitely do the further tests as advised by your doctor (and the CFF). Try not to worry until you find out the results. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

I agree with Jeana. 192 isn't very high right after a lot of sugar intake. We were taught in school that a normal blood glucose goes up to 120, but of course everyone has a different opinion on that, and maybe it is different for children. I don't really know what the standard is, but I only have to do a 2 hour GTT once a year. I started taking them when I was 18. I would hate to think that she has CFRD already, but I agree with the others that I would get her a GTT. I hope it turns out okay!
