I'm having a problem with the kids smoking in the bathrooms at my teens high school to the point the halls and some classrooms smell like cigarette smoke,my school can't seem to get a handle on this problem, can you tell me what your schools do to stop this problem. I know it makes my child sick every day plus there is more then one cf child in this school

Melissa thank you for your reply, the only bathroom she can use is the nurses but some times that can be a little problem if she's on the 3rd floor and the nurse is on the 1st floor and if the nurse office is open. I never remember the bathrooms bad when I went to school but we had smoking areas outside .(I think that just makes me old then).

There was one bathroom at our school where there was smoking. I think even the teachers would sneak in there once in a while. They couldn't get it to stop, so they eventually closed it, and locked it up. That was many moons ago! LOL
Why can't the school get a handle on it? If they have to assign a teacher or administrator to each bathroom, then so be it. It sounds to me like they are not doing everything they could do. I'd make a bit more noise about it. Your child should have a smoke-free environment at school. That's not too much to expect.
