Our appliances are fairly new, but are not stainless steel. There was one I saw that was "graphite" that looked pretty durable, but will need to do my homework. Acrylic and similar materials are definately a no no. Who'da "thunk" one could melt a kitchen sink. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

A couple of years ago we were buying a new sink and we found a crushed granite at Home Depot. I was told it is hard then porcilin and cast iron. We really liked it. We have since moved from that house.
