When you see a homeless person on the corner and he asks if you can spare a little change, do you help him?
What about if you know he's addicted to meth or heroin?
Do you feel compelled to help because you know about suffering from your experiences with CF, or do you feel that it's totally unfair that a healthy person is wasting his life like that?
Do you feel that you WOULD spare him some change, if you didn't need every single spare penny of your own for your own drugs that you have no choice but to take?
For myself, I know that by giving money to him I'm probably just perpetuating his situation and in the long run making him worse off...but I also tend to give away lots of money and food to people because I know that everyone is born into a different situation and these are not always as easy to get out of as one might think. I think I'd rather have been born with CF into the healthy situation I live in than with a healthy body and a world where I know nothing else but abuse, drugs, homelessness and struggle. It makes me grateful and envious, both at the same time.
How about you guys?
I'm curious and want to hear your opinions..........
