My daughter has had two "tune ups" both were after oral abx didn't clear up and accute coughing/junkiness when it should have worked for her current cultures. The first time we went through several different rounds of abx before going to IVs. The second time we just tried two different meds and then they put her in. A lot depends on the doctor, even varies in our clinic depending on who is on call that week. This time my daughter was retracting while breathing, which bought us an ER visit and then the on-call CF doc was the most aggressive one and he admitted her.

Well we heard back from the doctor, looks like we are going to do a 5 day course on Zithromax... he's never been on this, so I am praying it helps.

WHEN MY SON GETS SICK HIS SATURATION DROPS. WE HAVE BEEN GIVEN ORAL ANTIBIOTICS FOR A HEAVY GROWTH CULTURE AND A COUGH,AND HE HAS GOTTEN BETTER AND OTHER TIMES NOT. EVERY TIME MY SON IS ADMITTED HE HAS TO BE ON OXYGEN. I DONT KNOW IF THATS TRUE FOR MOST OR EVEN SOME BUT THATS HOW ITS GONE FOR US.

my son has been admitted 4 times and he is just 2, the first time was for a stap infection at 8months, the next 2 times was because he had a horrible cough and he was on med's for it but they never helped so he got tobi through iv and it always helped, both times he never grew anything they never really new what was wrong and his 4th time he got rsv, hospital stays are scarey, but iv meds help sooo much! and early intervention is key! he will get better from the iv meds they really work alot better i think! hope your baby gets better! you are in my prayers keep us posted!
