I delivered at the "women's hospital" (UPMC Magee)
most CF admissions for adults are at a different hospital a few min away. I took all my own meds with me, and I think the floor nurses were happy that I did. I wasn't allowed to eat or drink during labor, so I didn't need much then. I did do a xopenex treatment at one point ( I brought my own neb set up so I could have it when I wanted it). My Ob team was great about letting me tell them what I needed on the CF side of things, I did page my CF doc to let him know I was there just in case I or my doctors needed him.
The next day when I could eat I was glad to have my meds with me, I think it would have taken the pharmacy there a long time to get my enzymes and things since they are not standard there. They did order respritory therapy to come, I usually sent them away and convinced them sleep was more important than watching me blow into a accapella with no result. I would ask the doctors what the hospital policy is ahead of time.
