I take Jess and her sister to the dentist every 6 months as recommended. she has discolored teeth. some doctors say it's part of the CF. some say it's from medication. no one can agree.
she has already had 1 cap put on because of very weak enamel. who knows how many more. the back ones seem worse than the front.

as for the actual visit? I make sure the dentist washes his hands and puts on fresh gloves, equiptment is sterile and don't let her touch anything in the waiting area.

general office precautions, we go to a very compliant office so I don't worry so much...............perhaps I should?

thanks for responding now you have me thinking was your daughter on alot of meds while her baby teeth were erupting? my daughter molars had a very gray hugh to them under the enamel while they were breaking through but i could not get a stick(feeling the cavity) so i questioned it well it finally broke through the enamel and sure enough its a cavity. we could work on her in my office but we do not sedate anyone due to the risk so i am just not sure how we will get her to sit. but uh dentist offices even the spotless ones are not clean they are a germ factory... did they say that her enamel was weak did they seal all of her teeth to protect them do you have flouride in your water?

Sounds like it may be enamel defects from antibiotic use during tooth development. It is usually Tetracycline (or other -cyclines) that cause the gray coloring. I am unaware if Cipro or Tobi do anything similar, but it's possible.
Take her to a good Pedodontist, maybe she will only need nitrous, and not further sedation.
If you don't have fluoride in the water, I'd buy the gallons of nursery water.
You might know this already, but I thought I'd share just in case.
