how do cf people know other cf people?

I was just wondering how so many people with cf know other people with cf. Especially since we aren't allowed to really be near other cf people since we can get their germs/infections that they have and whatnot. Right now, I'm in the hospital and I've heard that there's other cf patients here on this floor with me but I don't know how to get to know them or which ones they are. The only other cf person I've ever met is my sister and one other guy that was in my school.

Either one of you in isolation? You may be able to meet if you follow the 3 ft rule and mask up. Or if you both have a laptop with a web cam you might be able to do that as well. Could phone... pass notes... ok. Now I'm just being silly. If it were me though, I just wouldn't chance it. To me its just not that important.

I know a lot of CF people from when I attended CF camp when I was younger. We still see each other from time to time and we're pretty cautious about our germs. I have also met a few people through voluterring with the CFF. It's great to meet and know people in-person, as long as everyone is safe about it.
