I was just wondering how i could raise money for me and my husband to have a child? I need to raise around 10 thousand dollars!! Ouch i know!! Anyways, I am going to have my sister be a seregate mother for me. She asked if I would like her to carry my baby for me. I cried when she asked me!!!! Anyways my father is going to help us out but i kinda need to raise some money to help out! I live in Hawaii and things cost alot around here so i guess anything would help! Thanks.....

Did you check to make sure your insurance doesn't cover the IVF first? I think they will in some cases, though quite obviously, they will avoid paying for it if they can.

They may very well not. Insurance companies suck. <img src="i/expressions/devil.gif" border="0">
But it's worth looking up. Good luck! <img src="i/expressions/rose.gif" border="0">

cariann,

they pay for all infertility treatments EXCEPT for invetro, which you are going to neeed for a surrogate. Just out of curiosity, are you not going through with a pregnancy yourself because of the possible adverse health issues? Tricare WILL pay for all fertility medications, workups and such.

Yah, My lung function is too low to have a pregnancy. My docs said that if i get pregnant that the baby nor i would survive! So yah my sis is going to have my baby for me!!! Ok so that is awesome to know. Do i go to where i get my treatment. I go to tripler in honolulu. Do i go to the gyno or where do i go? i have an appt for invtro. for the seregate thing on sat. to find out about the process, but i just dont know where to go from there. I am excited that they will help pay at least a little of it! that makes it a little less expensive! But hey it doesnt matter what it costs, im going to have it done! Anyways thank you sooo much for your help, ill keep you posted.

The CF Foundation has programs in place to help people pay for meds/treatments and such. I don't know if ivetro would count but you could chaeck it out.

They will pay for nothing related to invetro. But, they will pay for clomid and other egg stimulating medications which you are going to need if you do IVF. In San Diego, they have a military infertility clinic and the cost of invetro is about 5500 in comparision to out in town at 12000-15000. I know there is also an air force base in washington that has an infertility clinic. Maybe for your husband's next duty station you might want to consider that, I am sure they would work a surrogate situation out with you at no extra cost. But I guess that all depends on how long you want to wait for a baby too. Good luck and keep us updated.
