I have to agree with rosesixtyfive, coming here and talking with others has been of great benefit to us, you will learn many things just from reading, you know what they say 'knowledge is power'.

There are quite a few of your fellow Australians that come here to this site, so you will gain knowledge of Aussie CF life as well as from the rest of the world.

Also one or two dads come here, for much the same reasons as yourself (including me)

I try to focus on the good, focus on DS just being a kid and enjoying life. Of course if there's something a little off -- a cough, fever, vomiting... I do feel a bit overwhelmed and the worrying sets in. When things are bad it DOES become all incompassing; however, DS is still a little boy who wants to play video games, play outside, play with his toys and his dog...

This morning I was doing CPT on DS while he slept and I was counting his breaths, worrying about his stuffy nose -- that he may have another headcold or sinus issues. And he opened up his eyes and gave me the biggest smile and said "hi Mommy!". And off we went to start our day --- finished he beatment, nebs, breakfast...

I'm glad you found this site! I didn't have time to post more last night other than on the photo (love those dimples ) but I agree so much with the others; this website and having others to share experiences with or just to read how others have handled certain things has been such a godsend to me. It is very frustrating when they are not doing well and we feel helpless as far as what to do and/or that feeling we get when no matter what we do they still struggle... so coming here and being able to connect with so many others going through similar experiences has been invaluable to me. And there is nothing like being able to share the joys we experience with a group of other parents who 'get it', who understand just how hard-won things can be for our kids vs. others who don't deal with everything they do.

I'm sorry there isn't as much widespread awareness/support when it comes to cf in your country as there should be, but glad you'll be able to connect with others from Australia via this site.
