How do you earn a living and take care of a CF child?

I feel for you Melissa. WITHOUT Cf us moms have a lot on our plate and working can be difficult. But with it, oh my, it really complicates things.

My job is very flexible. I'm a college professor, so I really can't give you any good work from home options. I do work mostly from home, teaching an online class and doing all my prep work and research from home. I go in just for my classes and I have switched my schedule so I have no classes on Wednesday, as Wednesday is clinic day and I wanted to be able to go whenever need be (some months we seem to be there every other wednesday).

I hope you can figure it all out. The added stress of job issues is just so much more on our heads.

I am going to echo Jess' idea about temp agencies. They are great for short-term assignments. I've used them several times over the years when I felt I couldn't committ to a full-time job responsibility. They can usually keep you busy. If that isn't an option, with your experience you should be able to do data entry or document preparation from home. Selling Mary Kay & tupperware can be very profitable if you have someone to stay with Claire while you go to the parties.

Another thing - I have a friend who used to do scheduling and answering phones for a repair company. They forwarded their phone to her house each day, so she could stay home with an elderly parent. I hope you find what works best for you and your daughter. I'm sorry she is having such problems. Good Luck.
