How do you feel if you miss a treatment?

everyday i use the vest for 20 mins while i do an albuterol neb followed by a pulmozyme neb in the morning before school. then before i go to bed i do the same thing minus the pulmozyme.

if i miss a morning treatment i always cough more and have a harder time breathing. i feel that way most of time until i do my 2nd treatment.

anybody feel like this? im assuming this is normal and its good incentive to wake up and do them

Hm good question. It depends on what treatment I'm missing. I could miss a few days worth of pulmozyme and not notice a difference, but if I miss more than one dose of inhaled antibiotic (tobi, colistin, etc) then I'm coughing up a storm the whole day. As far as the vest goes, if I miss a session then I think I'm doing fine, but then when I get around to it, afterwards I'm thinking "good golly miss molly I should have done that hours ago! " just because it does make me feel better afterwards.

Things like enzymes though, they are tricky, sometimes if I forget them I'm all fine and dandy like they weren't even needed in the first place, and other times it can mess me up for DAYS. So those I try not to miss any!

But yes, overall feeling better DOING treatments versus not doing them is a great incentive to wake up and do them. I agree. =)

Yes they both suck to miss. You either wake up and do you day with tons of coughing and mucus coming out or you dont clear yourself out and thereby the morning treatmetn will be fierce. Sometimes I get so much mucus out I get fevers just from moving and disturbing it so much.

I probably though feel 'okay' if I miss a night treatment. More times than not I have a hard time getting stuff up at night (when im not producing even more mucus during exacerbation). Also I tend to feel super amazing starting anywhere from 5-8 pm... can be in bed all day but as soon as that time comes up, I feel like I can take on the world. It contributes to super bad sleep habits too if I dont ignore it.

I definitely feel more tight though when I miss a treatment... cant breathe as deep too.

oh and when I do have an exacerbation, I have to do a 3rd treatment (or 4 if in hospital) in the middle... otherwise I cant walk around my apt without coughing up huge globs.

And another thing. Is it easier to skip when feeling super tired and nauseous (though still mucusy) or when you are feeling tip top?

Im a mix... tip top and you think one treatment skipping doesnt mean anything and I normally dont feel it too much... but then what keeps me doing them is that I want to sustain the good feeling

When I am exhausted treatments are hard to do when I just want to sleep... at the moment sleeps sounds so much better than breathing haha <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0">
