How do you go swimming while using supplimental O2

I don't think water would be able to get into the hose because of the air pressure. Try an experiment; hold your thumb agisnt one end of some nebulizer or oxygen tubing and put the other end into the water. As long as your thumb's there, water won't get in. So, as long as the tubing is connected to the oxygen tank, it shouldn't be a problem.

I seem to recall an older woman in my parents apartment complex who swam laps while on oxygen about 10 years ago. Sorry I didn't really pay attention to the details. Just remember she used a really long tube...

Well we figured something ot for the time being. Today we went swimming, we took the 50 foot cord, his E tank and he jumped in with his life vest on. He had a blast.

I had to wrap his PICC line up so it wouldnt get wet, but other than that everything went well. I had to bump his O2 up while he was swimming just cause he was working so hard, but he swam for almost an hour and got some really good coughing out.

He wants to go swimming again tomorrow.

I will probably go to the Target and look for that floating cooler thing, that looked pretty neat. But htis worked ok for the time being.
