The Transplant team said swimming and biking would be a great way for him to keep his strength up before surgery. however, Garran has liquid O2 now and also has a PICC line. Since he has been out of the hospital for a few days he has wanted to go swimming soooo bad, but I have yet to figure out how to go swimming with the O2 on. He cant take it off for any length of time like he used to before this last admission, or he desatts very quickly. He drops down in the 60's - 70's in minutes. So We figured out how to cover the PICC for baths and swimming etc, but the O2 is a mystery, anyone have any ideas?

The only thing I can think of is to use a long line...
Not much more. Do you have a long line so Garran can walk through the whole house? I used to have one of about 20 meters.
Maybe he can use that?

We have a 50 foot cord for the house and I might be able to get another maybe 20 foot one from the O2 people just for swimming. I was just curious, if it was a problem with water getting in the hose in the canula. I am paranoid that way I guess. I can always walk next to him by the pool. and my hubby can swim in the pool with him. Garran isnt a very strong swimmer, but we have a life vest for him.

I was going to say to use a really long line for swimming and then trash that tubing after the swim, and start with new tubing when he is all done. Perhaps the hospital could give you a bunch of o2 connecting tubing for extra for swimming. If you ask I bet they would just give it to you.
