How do you manage

I understand that how you feel and I only have one kid! Granted, he's on hyperal through a central line- which I take care of myself, actugal 3x daily, zantac and multivitamins (mixed with tpn), and nebs with cpt 2x daily... and we are measuring output through his g-tube, checking temp twice a day, etc. My mom babysits him once a week maybe, but in his 3 and a half months of life he's been in the hospital 9 weeks total- last hospital stay being 6 weeks. I know you have had the same experience...My son has short-gut too (21 cm of small intestine left)but we are sort of at the beginning of healing. Still haven't even started feedings through the g-tube yet.

But a little bit of 'me' time is necessary for me- even if it's just 20 mins every other day while my hubby takes care of him. Thankfully I do have a very hands-on hubby who will take care of him if I need a break- but honestly right now my son is a two-person job anyway.
