How does your clinic work?

Our clinic also has you see the on-call doctor. I really like all the different docs, so it isn't a big deal to me. BUT our CF doctor is pretty proprietary, he comes and checks in many of the days we are there and helps make a lot of the decisions. He's leaving the center in June <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0"> but as I said I've met most of the others and like them all, so I'm confident that it will be fine.

The only time we did a bronch from an in-patient stay, our doctor was not on call, but he scheduled and did the bronch -- it was his decision.

Bek's team comes around every day, except for the weekends. On M-T-W, we see the team during the morning hours and then they do clinic appts in the afternoon. On Th-F, they have clinic appts in the morning, and we see them up here in the afternoon.

The team actually has 3 CF docs, plus a couple of nurse practitioners. It's the docs who take turns covering the weekends. Both of the other docs know Bek, and she remembers them, but that's usually the only time we see them.

Sorry Jack is sick! Hayley is in the hospital with pneumonia right now too! Our clinic is smaller and there are only 2 doctors, who really don't like each other from what I have heard. We only see our doctor all the time and that is the way I like it. He does all the procedures. If we are in on the weekend and it is not his weekend on call (He alternates every other weekend). Then we see another doctor who is the head of the PICU. I would not like seeing different doctors all the time at all.
