How long do neb compressors last for you?

We started with a pari proneb ultra, and it was faulty from the start -- albuterol/atrovent took 25 minutes, tobi took about 45-50, but being new parents and new to nebs and cf we didn't know. DH's cousin gave us her daughter's old devilbiss pulmoaide and it worked great! Treatment times were much shorter and this was a 15 year old machine. So I bought one out of pocket for less than $100. The pari was no longer under warranty. I like the compactness of the pari for travel, so I purchased another one for travel -- again out of pocket for less than $50.
With the devilbiss, it lasted about 2 years and then it got louder and treatment times increased. They only deal with our DME, so I had to have them mail it in and it took 3 weeks for the warranty replacement. Fortunately we had the extra. When the Pari Proneb II became faulty, I emailed the company and they mailed out a new one, but it took a week to replace that one as well. I'd read on HERE how people just called the company and a new one was sent out immediately, so 9 months later when the Pari got really loud, I called and the NEXT morning one was on my door step.

I'm considering a mobilairre for the next purchase, but with the 5 year warranty on the pari, and the 3 year one on the devilbiss, I figure I'll save some money and keep returning them.

Just want to pipe in, I recently got the Mobilaire for my daughter and we love it! It cost $275 and insurance did not cover it but if you have a FSA you could use it for tax purposes. It is a heavy duty machine. We still have our Pari for back up cause it's under warrantee....

I have a Pulmo-Aide, that is around 10 yrs. old. Works great, have a new back up in the box, waiting for the old one to die. Do 1.5 to 2 hr. neb. rx., two to three times a day, I use a lot of HTS (5-8ml) with each neb rx, helps me to clean out good. Also use xopenex and mucomyst with the Pulmo-Aide. Have a Eflow with Altera neb. for Cayston and Tobi. I use 1/2 vial of Tobi due to the efficiency of the Altera neb.. A new Pulmo-Aide cost around $100.00. Have a small compact neb. but do not use it, I take my Pulmo-Aide on trips because I think it does a better job. Jut got back from Las Vegas for wk, now problems taking it on plane. One thing that I do is to put the Pari-LC nebulizer it the sterilize steamer that came with the Eflow at least one time a day. When on trips use liquid sterlizer.
