How long does it usually take you?

LOL Solo. That's awesome. One of the best things in life, to me, is messing with people and watching the reaction.

Ladybug, it sometimes it is more than a week before I start feeling well. I, like lightNlife, get very run down with the medication and I feel worse. I hope you're getting back to yourself soon!

Ladybug,
I used to feel better with IVs after about 3 days or so too. For the past few years though it hasn't worked the same and I don't feel a ton better after IVs. Last time my pfts didn't even move. I wonder if it's due to the need to switch meds and/or maybe you have something new growing that isn't as sensitive to the IVs you're on. I know for me we had to try some new ones to see how they worked, but I still haven't found something quite as great as they use to be. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon.

within the first few days of starting antibiotics I can feel a huge difference in combination with physio

my pft results always rise within the first 5 days, but for some odd reason at the 10 day mark of a normal admission, my FEV1 slightly declines by about 2-3%

by the 16th day I'm feeling better, then after 3 or so weeks I'm ready for the home

If this is not how things usually go and you still have a lot of sputum, I'd ask to have another sputum culture run to recheck senitivities.
