How long for antibiotics to work?

Heather, so sorry to hear that Alyssa is still sick
<br />When Grant is on antibiotics it usually takes about a week before he stops coughing. Please keep us updated

3-7 days for improvement on orals. After the one week mark with no change or worsening it's time for a change. Is she treating all of her bugs with one abx?

I talked to the doctor yesterday. She was taking bactrim, but her culture came back with just sensitive staph and the doc felt that the bactrim was not good coverage for her sensitivities. So they switched her to keflex. Doc said that if the cough is still around by the weekend, we'll change paths and treat as if their is pseudomonas down there that we just can't see from the throat culture. I'm hoping we can stop this cough, because the last thing we need is a hospitalization for the holidays!!!
