Both of my children got rsv shots for 6 months each year for 3 winters. They did fine. They got them in their pediatricians office. I have noticed that my kids have really done well being exposed to other kids. They tend not to get the average colds and illnesses that their friends get. My daughter's teacher made a comment last week that it seems that everyone in her Kindergarten class coughs more than she does. One of the drs (Dr. Warwick) that I have taken them to said this is because cf kids tend to have higher immunities (due to some level in their blood that I can't specifically remember now). When they do get sick, they get over pretty easily. The cf problems (pseudomonas, etc) tend to be what is challenging and not sure how you can prevent that. My daughter was diagnosed at a month old and I kept her a bit isolated her first few six months or so of life which happened to be during the winter. Honestly that was when she caught more colds/illnesses than she ever has. Whether it was from the grocery store or from my husband and I, I am not sure. I just realized that I couldn't wrap her in a bubble like I wanted to and it was depressing not to get out an enjoy life. So they went to mother's day out when they turned two, playgroups starting at 9 months or so, music class, gymnastic, swimming lessons, etc. I told myself I could always cut back if they go too sick and they never did.
