I had a c-section with my 2 year old son, by choice. My doctor and I decided together that it was best for me. My lung function dropped dramatically during pregnancy and I didn't want to take any chances with my life or the baby's during labor and delivery. The c-section was NOT bad at all. There was some pain, but there is pain with vaginal delivery. I was up and moving around normally in a week. The worst of the pain was when I coughed, but they give you some pain meds for the incision. Maybe not everyone has the same c-section experience, but mine was great. I plan to have a c-section with this next baby. Not sure if that helps!
