Okay a somewhat stupid question, just curious.

I sleep on 4 pillows. I have to sleep propped up or I have breathing issues and wake up really congested

So far I do not have to sleep propped up. But it is common for cfers to have to sleep that way. I find that when I am sick and in the hospital I do have the head of the bed elevated not even realizing it. So I guess when I am sick I do sleep elevated. But normally I sleep with one pillow.

I sleep with 3 of my own & then hubby throws me one of his since he only actually sleeps with one. I dont actually use them to prop myself up for coughing.I use them in various locations of my body for support. Such as now with a bad shoulder etc. If I am having a bad coughing time I go to my husband recliner in the living room. This lets me propped up without getting a stiff neck or sore back. Maybe not for everyone, but this particular chair fits my body perfect for sleeping.

I have 2 pillows ... I criss cross them and lay my head at the part that they cross. It isn't THAT elevated really ... ust a bit more than a pillow really as my pillows are nice and worn in. I think of it as getting me head in a good position with my neck (so my neck isn't bent or "kinked" upward or downward due to too much or too little pillow).

When I am in the hospital I find I sleep on my side with the upper portion of the bed slightly elevated. I just find it more comfy physically not so much for breathing.

Also do you guys sleep on your sides, stomach or back. I find I go to sleep on my sides usually and that I will sometimes wake up on my stomach - but NEVER sleep on my back I just find it impossible to breath comfortably that way.

I sleep on my sides and sometimes on my back, but vary rarely do I sleep on my tummy, I think the only time I sleep on my tummy is when my nose is draining in the back of throat, cause when that happens it makes me cough so as long as I can keep the snot from running Im fine. Oh also if I have a tummy ache that helps sometimes too. Back to the original question: my husband and I sleep with 3 pillows each, I dont use mine to prop myself to breathe easy, I do prop them up when I do my nebs so I can relax instead of having to just sit up. But really I only use 1 pillow for my head sometimes 2. I forgot that I have 2 feather pillows tucked in the crack of our bed. We are using a water bed frame so we have a crack, from where the mattress is too short.

I sleep with two pillows to prop me up due to hemoptysis sometimes, and I also have a body pillow that I "cuddle" for support during the night.
