Hi Tonya, here is a link to an article I found recently that discusses CF Nutrition, Enzymes, Weight Gain, etc. I think you will find it helpful but beware, it can take awhile to download!

</a>
In the article, it defines what is considered healthy weight by going by BMI. Here is a link that can calculate your son's BMI:

Hope this helps!

Weight is a big issue at our house. My daughter was 32lbs at five and all she needed was enzymes she is 9 and 72lbs. On the other hand our son weighed 14lbs at 1 yr and with the help of the g-tube he is 5 and 37. I was scared of the g-tube but it is a life saver for our son. He gets fed nutren jr 2 cans 5 nights a week over a 8 hour period. I have a little girl who just turned 2 in Jan at is 21lbs and does not have cf. Our GI Doc says he should be a poster child for the g button. He said he would not be here if we had not made the choice of the g tube. They gave us a few months at first before we had it put in and he did not gain a pound so we decided to do it. It depends on each childs needs. I am glad we made the decision now and the time I was worried.
