the guy from Respirtech told me to wipe off my unit, tubing and vest with a cleaning cloth every couple of days. as it is i can hardly ever remember to do it! he said that the equipment is an easy place for germs to accumulate from coughing during treatments, but are we really that contagious to oursevles??

This may sound bad, but I only clean Reeces vest if he has acutally spit something out or if he gets into a couhing fit then throws up. I never really clean it "just cause". It makes sense though to wipe it down after a few days or even after a day. It doesnt take long. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. Never really thought about it.<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

OUtside of wiping off the salt from the hypertonic saline when I used it...I dont wipe it on a regular basis. It gets wipes down when the rest of the house gets done or at least the living room since that is where it is.

Usually just wipe the obvious food stains off of it. DS lately wants popscicles while doing his vest.

I have never wiped mine down, and no one told me to. I think out of all the years Ive owned it, Ive only wiped it down once and that was when I moved, it was so dusty too. It was amazing how NEW it looked after cleaning it.

I am glad I am not the only one that does not clean it on a regular basis. I never thought about it before.
Thanks for alerting all of us.

I rarely wipe Maggie's vest down. One time she threw up on the VEST and I just got a new one. What should we wipe it down with? A damp cloth is not going to kill MRSA.
