How old was your child when they first cultured pseudomonas?

Andrew was 9 months old. We eradicated it with TOBI at that time, and he was five years old before he cultured it again. It's shown up regularly ever since about that time.

Ellie was almost five years old. We eradicated it with Tobi and we've had two clean years since.

When DD cultures PA, they'll advise a hospital admit for IV meds instead of an initial treatment with TOBI. What are others' thoughts?

My oldest who is 12 hasn't ever cultured it (knock on wood) and my 6 year old did for the first time a year ago from December. He did inhaled TOBI and it came back so we did IV's and he hasn't cultured it since, (knock on wood).

From research I read, IVs do not give better results in terms of eradication and PA free period length after treatment. But then I am not a doctor, there might be other research that contradicts that, would be interesting to see if anyone has a link or something.

I was around 14 when i started doing IVs regularly (once a year) due to PA. I have been hospitalised once before at the age of 8 due to PA. The put me on Ivs and i didnt culture it again for many years. It helped me go through the phase of puberty and you know all the growing up without having any problems. My height weight and body are pretty much average!

By the time I was diagnosed at 30 months I was battling chronic PA. I now have 3 strains. One that is mucoid. My non-mucoid ones are far more resistant and more difficult to treat. My son has never cultured PA.
