There seems to be two problems in the accuracy of this.
One problem is that "Ultrasonic" means the sound above the hearing range of the human being, which is over 20KHz.
Second, the other problem has to do with Decibels (dB), or the level (or pressure) of sound for the ear to hear...of course if you turn up the volume loud enough you may eventually hear it, but I'm sure there is a set level to test at.
If you can hear the Flyback for the CRT on your tv, your tv is getting old, but it does run at about 19KHz. I can hear ours once in a while (hitting it on the side usually stops it), so it indicates to me that I've still got a bit left in my hearing range...just gotta be carefull with my iPod!
