Thanks Missa. That really helps.

<br />Happy Thanksgiving,

Hi,
We use 5 % - we mix 2 ml 0,9 % NaCl and 2ml 10% NaCl - this gives 5,45% .
I buy it here for perscription. Soon we'll be using a stronger mix. We can't get 7% NaCl in our drug stores.
We get ampules of 5ml for 0,9% and 10ml for 10%.
We open ampule per day, keep it in the frigde and throw the rest out after 24 hours.
So we use up 2ml of 0,9% NaCl and use all the 10% - since 4 ml in 2 inhaltions per day - minimum - and 6ml I ad to her yoghurt or food so she eats it up.

When we started we used first 0,9% for 2 weeks, then 2% and when Asia got used to it we changed it then 5%. And at first it was only 3 ml of mix - now it's 4 ml.
We are after a cheque up in our center and are waiting for the final diagnosis - so the mixture might change - I think it will be to 7%.
Try making the mix gradually stronger - so she has time to get used to it.
The coughting comes from using a too strong mix maybe. Ask your doctor about this.

So far Joanna takes this inhalation good and her x-rays show no progress of cf in lungs - she is also in perfect health - according to our docs who examined her this monday.

Edan - you asked me about Joanna and her mutation - I send you a reply - feel free to use my personal email. But knowing the mutation is only a help and does not determine how cf will develop. There are many situations when the same mutations - even in twins - turn out to have very different effects.

Happy Thanksgiving
