I was looking for a good humidifier a little over a year ago. I'm kind of a tech geek so I was reading a Science magazine one night and saw an add for this one here....

It works just like it says on the website.
My sister worked at Bed Bath & Beyond, so she was able to get it for me at a discount. I haven't checked lately, but last year those suckers were very expensive..so that discount really helped.

Here is the one I've had for 3 or 4 winters now (the Holmes Cool Mist Humidifier #HM3500) ....just change out the filter as needed (usually only once a winter season for mine). I also use a cap-full for each gallon (each tank holds 4 gallons) of the Bacteriostat (which is only a couple of bucks also at Wal Mart and a quart bottle will last for for at least a full winter season, mine usually lasts two). Also is you have "hard water" then then also carry a water treatment too.

Here's a link....

I wouldn't hestitate to recommend this one!
