Husband HOME

So, my husband has been feeling really bad over the past couple of weeks, so the doctors put him on antibiotics and that didn't help. He continued to have high fevers, etc. So on Friday he insisted that they run a bunch of blood tests to see what was going on (don't even get me started on the clinic issues we have been having). He felt even worse on Saturday, so he went into the ER and told them that he needed to be admitted. They didn't listen and sent him home (again, a story for another post...).

So, he went into the clinic this morning and the lab called while we were there--his blood culture was growing yeast! It was growing on all of the samples--the ones taken from his arm and his port, so they are 99% sure that it is yeast, which I guess is pretty serious. They are doing an echocardiogram soon to see if there has been any heart damage and are starting him on some anti-fungal medications. They say that this is the first case of this at the clinic. We are relieved to know what it is, but also worried about it. He is in and will be there for at least 4 days. This is only his 3rd week on a new job, so the timing really stinks and I can tell that he is worried about this.

So...that't the skinny on what is going on with us.

Darn it, why doesn't anyone listen when we say that something is not right!!! I am sorry this is happening before Christmas. I hope they can get it under control and have him out by Christmas. My prayer list just keeps growing and growing...I will pray that his job will have patience and compassion with him also...
