I dunno...I'm fairly open-minded when it comes to scientific research. But when it comes to blending <i>species</i>, I think there are just somethings in nature that shouldn't be messed with. This sounds like something off the Sci-Fi channel to me...too creepy! If I believed for one minute that this kind of experimentation would remain only at the cellular level, that would be one thing. But humans like to screw around when and where they aren't supposed to, so who knows where this might lead...call me a conspiracy theorist if you want, but that's my view.
As for the Catholic church's view on the subject...lets just say there are reasons why I am an agnostic and leave it at that.
