Reece did not respond well to the 7%... we are thinking that it made him "go in" this last time. Although we really cant say. His xrays had no change & hhis lungs sounded clear...his pfts were just low!

He has never tried the 3% & may benefit. Does the 3% come mixed already? I wonder if it will work when he gets a little older.....maybe he could handle it better.

Im glad it has worked for all of you<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

My son who is 3 yrs. old uses the 7% twice a day. When he is sick, it really helps him to cough up junk. He has not been able to avoid secondary infections after catching a cold yet but it's possibly that it keeps him nice and clear when he is not sick. When he is at baseline he doesn't cough with it and it doesn't seem irritating.

Hi, This is my first post here. I actually found this forum while searching for DIY HS recipes a few days ago. I had read about HS online the last few years and asked a local doctor to prescribe it for me so I could try it out. Turned out my stupid insurance company wouldn't cover it and it was a few hundred bucks I didn't have so I put it off.

Then I ended up in the hospital while on vacation in Southern California this February. Went in with both A & B influenza, MRSA and PA. I spent a few days on a vent and ended up being transfered to the University in San Diego where they had me doing the HS. I don't remember all my PFT's, I do know they were horrible though. The first FEV1 was .81 liters which is pretty terrible for someone 6' and 40 Years. The HS really helped clear the junk out of my lungs. A month and 4 days of hospital total with them first saying I wasn't leaving with my own lungs if at all to now being off O2 and I just got back from a decent workout on my mountain bike. The insurance company still doesn't pay for the HS, but now with a bit of info from my local Pharmacist and I make my own 7% and it has been working perfectly.

For what it's worth <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
