aw; poor thing. My ENT used the bulb sucker thing (not sure of technical term?) on me when I was a teeenager and I cried; it hurt...I was certain it was going to pull my brains out through my nose or something; not fun at all. It is effective though.

I agree that the sinus rinse helps a TON. I use the waterpik with nasal attachment; I've found it to be most effective since the water is pulsating through your nose.

to be honest, I can't remember where I got the waterpik nasal adapters. I think my asthma/allergy doc may have given them to me 10 years ago. I have been looking around on the internet and it looks like they are no longer available.

However, I did find sinupulse, which looks like the exact same concept as the waterpik...and the nasal attachment looks almost just like mine too Kind of expensive, but might be worth looking into if you're interested

I'm not sure how the spray mode would be beneficial, but pulsating would def help get some gunk out.

I agree that using that bulb sucker in a 'dry' nose *would* hurt (stuff is so thick and sometimes crusty and stuck to the nostrils, etc.) That is why it's essential to add the saline to loosen the stuff and make it easier to get it out.

I don't doubt that it causes her some transient discomfort and that she doesn't like it. Just adding the saline (which does not hurt, although it undoubtedly feels weird) is enough to make some babies flip out. When I said it's not hurting her, I meant you aren't harming her/causing her damage... whereas for cf babies, letting mucus sit in there CAN be harmful since it can lead to them getting sicker.

I would check with the dr before trying one of the electric things on a baby that little. The flow of the water might be too forceful to be safe to use on a young infant.
