My daughter mixes her own. She has both 3% & 10% vials and mixes it between 3% & 7% depending on how she feels.

Thanks for the responses! Sounds like the answer is which ever solution he can tolerate (especially now that he is going to use the eFlow).

You guys are awesome! Thanks.

I use the 7% and have from the start. I tried the 3% one time, but it didn't do much for me (not like the 7%, at least). He can always start out with the 3%, and move up if he tolerates it well . The 3% is pretty cheap- I get 100 vials for about $15.

The order I do mine in is :

Xopenex (refined albuterol-and always before HTS )

HTS

Vest (if I am in a big hurry, I will do them-HTS and vest- together )

Pulmozyme

Advair

Tobi or other inhaled antibiotic (but I think I am alone on the Advair before Tobi- I need it first to tolerate the Tobi well)

I only have an occasional bleed, and usually pretty small, so I'm afraid I can't help you with that- sorry!

J's used both 5% and 7%. He prefers the 5%, the 7% is a bit too harsh on his system (he was getting a raw scratchy throat).

Order: Albuterol/Atrovent/Mucomyst then 5% HTS. Both while using the vest. The HTS usually runs for a bit after the vest as well. 2-3x a day for the A/A/M combination, and 0-2x a day for the HTS. His HTS is a patient-driven experiment to determine what works best for him.
