i cant sleep on my right side

I'm assuming from the way you worded your post that that is the side you bleed from, and when you lay on it, you hemoptysize- that said, that happens to me as well, with my left side. I asked my doctor about it, and her theory was a difference in blood pressure on that side when you lay on it. Sort of like the blood has to push harder to get through, putting pressure on already weak blood vessels, so they get a hole from the pressure and bleed.

I really can't answer this because as I got worse and both lungs were about the same, it was hard for me to sleep on my sides at all and I also couldn't sleep on my back. I normally ended up stacking a bunch of pillows in front of me and leaning over them to sleep. I would sometimes sleep on my stomach too.

I do think, however, that I was more comfortable on my right side and I know that it is my left side that I always had the blood. I would cough constantly no matter what position I slept in.
