I don't drink enough H20

There is something in soda that either bonds or prevents calcium from being absorbed, but I can't remember what it is...

My GI doctor told me to drink more water for my liver, and I have been trying. I got a couple of easy to clean bottles with screw on, attached (lol) lids from Walmart, and a bunch of Propel fitness water individual packets (berry, strawberry kiwi, and lemon) that is made with Splenda, Countytime lemonade and Koolaid packets that are a Splenda and sugar mix (I especially like these after I work out) and one that is berry flavored with Splenda and has calcium, vit. K and D added called Vitasplash.

I don't care for plain water (in case you can't tell- lol), but I have also started trying to make myself just chug a 12-16 oz glass of plain water just to make sure I get it in, when it crosses my mind, and that is helping too. When I was pregnant, I used half a bottle of Propel and half plain water, and since I was having to eliminate sugar, it was a treat even watered down (I didn't want any more artificial sweetner in my system than I had to have <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0"> ).

I love water! This is a pretty recent thing for me though..about 2 years..I used to drink a few sodas a day, juice and some milk but never water unless I was exercising.

NOW I drink water all day and throughout the night...I limit myself to one Coca Cola a day for my craving..I also have a green tea a few times a week. I try to get 2 glasses of milk or some choc soy milk each day too...I drink at least 64 oz of water everyday..It is a habit..I start each morning with my oatmeal, berries, yogurt and ice water..then the rest of the day is bottled water, usually big bottles of Smart Water...then water at bed time and I keep it on my nightstand to drink when I can't sleep during the night haha.

I have a problem with spring water and won't drink it unless I have to and I take off all paper labels on water bottles..it is a pretty wierd habit!! I only keep labels on Aquafina bottles or Smart Water bottles..this could be a slight OCD case haha.
I am going to buy an aluminum water bottle too to just fill up to save on plastic.

Ya, I have trouble drinking just water. Can't really take the taste. What I have found that helps me to drink more water is to add Crystal Light On the Go single packs. They work great and have 0 carbs. They come in many different flavors, my favorite is Classic Orange. There are other brands out there that do the same thing.

Well, its nice to know I am not the only one who hates the taste of water! When I tell doctors that, they ask.."what taste? there is no taste." Exactly!! No taste! I have tried different types of water and I like Deer Park the best. Doesnt have any minerals added it it like the others. I have also tried the flavored water...hate them all. I also have used the Crystal Light On the Go packs....cant find one I like, Classic Orange is the only one I could stand. I found some Kool-Aide, in a round tub type thing like Tang comes in, with sugar already added...that isnt too bad. They do have Kool-Aide on the Go packs, which is like Crystal Light packs, but made with Splenda. I dont like the splenda taste, so I cant drink too much of that. They also have Propel on the Go packs, if you like Propel. Have you tried Juicey Juice? Since it is 100% Juice, that should be good for you. I love caffinated Sweet Ice Tea...but I still dont drink enough of that. I have never been told not to drink certain things by my doctor or dietician. They just want me to drink period.

I haven't looked at the Special K water, will have to try that. But ya classic orange is the one I like the best. Fortunately I do like the splenda taste. I tried a few of the other brands but didn't care to much for them. Unfortunately I have to watch my suger intake so I can't drink to much of the other brands that use sugar. =(
