Have they checked your sinuses? Sometimes sinus infections don't respond well to iv antibiotics, and can cause problems with your lungs getting continually reinfected (not to mention giving you a horrid cough from the garbage that goes down the back of your throat!). You can have bad sinuses without having a stuffy nose, etc.. Also, have you been checked for and are you doing anything for possible inflamation? Sometimes that can be an unending merry-go-round of coughing, but too tight to get anything up and out, sick more often, etc.. I take Advair, NAC (fizzy nac, lots of info here if you search it on the forums <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0"> )and GSH (ditto), plus zithro 3 times a week for inflamation, plus keeping my blood sugar in check. You may want to ask to be checked for CFRD just in case. I hope you are feeling better soon.

Thank yall very much for your inputs. I also have trouble sleeping from coughing and I usually sleep sitting upwards kind of, which I think helps a little. I've been on the hypertonic saline for about 3 years now, which does help me cough up more. Yea, I've had my sinus checked a few times (I've had 2 sinus surgeries in the last 2ish years). Aaaand I already have CFRD which is under control, and I take advair and zithromyacin also. For those of you who are going through the same thing, I hope yall get better also. Thank you

Hey,

I can definately feel you with being sick of being sick! I was on iv's since November and just got off of them about 3 weeks ago. Now I'm having awful digestive problems and a cough is increasing. I also do the same where I cough so much that I vomit. Just this morning on my way to work, I had to pull my car over to the side of the road to throw up because I was having such a bad coughing attack.

I just had a CT scan done of the abdomen and pelvis to try and see if there is anything going on, and within the report it stated there was a mucoid obstruction (I think it was the word) in the middle lobe of the lungs. I don't think I'm back at the level where I need another round of iv's, but I feel like I have been sick for centuries.

Maybe we'll all have better luck with some warm weather months? I really hope you feel better soon!!

It was so weird to come across this thread tonight... I recently in the last night or two have noticed how I NEVER get a good night of sleep... I wake up every 4 hours or so and for somereason at 5am I always wake up having the worst coughing fits... Last night after I took my antis I was coughing so hard I threw up, which hasn't happened in a long time, though I think it was becasue I didn't drink enough water with my antis... but I hear you!!! I know it isn't near the end... I believe in my heart it isn't, but it is scary when things like folding laundry or conversation winds you... eekkk!!!
I love you all as my Cysters and Fibrothas!!! and keep up all the good work and take care of yourselves!!!
xoxo with all my heart...
