...and I start tomorrow!
I posted a few weeks ago saying I was having trouble passing my physical because of my PFTs. Well, I improved to a 70%, but was still short of a passing score of 75%. The next day I went to my own doctor and they did another test and I got a 79%! So I gave those results to the city's doctor and it worked!
They sent me a letter saying that based on my results I would have limitations such as not straining myself or overworking myself, not working in dusty areas, or using protective respiratory equipment. The position itself isn't really physical (equipment services attendent), but I guess they are just covering their own butt...
But now I have a question.... The lady that will be my supervisor said that I got the job because it's only part time. If it was a full time position I wouldn't have gotten it due to insurance reasons. What does this mean? Can they do that? I then asked her if that means I will never be eligible for full time, and she didn't know the answer. I was excited I got the position, but a major part of why I even tried for it was because I was hoping to move to full time to get all the benefits - ie, health, retirement, etc.
