I got the OK to get pregnant

Hi everyone,

I had a clinic visit today and have been waiting for it because I wanted to ask my doctor about getting pregnant. He said if it's something I want to do then he can help me make that happen. He says he wants me to see a high-risk OB though and he will be in contact with this doctor throughout my pregnancy.

The only problem is that I will have to come off at least one of my meds. I will have to come off the high-dose ibuprofen therapy that I've been on for 13 years (it might be a good thing for me to finally stop it though because it's giving me mega GERD problems).

Has anyone taken Advair during pregnancy? According to my med book, it's a category C for pregnancy, so I'm not sure they're going to want me to take that. I have have become pretty dependent on these anti-inflammatories/steroids. He said that we could definitely look into the Zithromax M-W-F plan because it can also help with inflammation issues. Anyone on the Zithromax treatment?

I am excited but scared all at the same time. I'm going to hate messing with my meds, but I so badly want to be pregnant.

Thanks for letting me talk

Hi Kris,

Oh my goodness! You are the first person that I've come across that was on the ibuprofen. Can you answer a couple questions for me....

How long were you on the ibuprofen treatment?
Did you just stop taking it one day or did you "wean" yourself off it? I get horrible headaches when I don't take my ibuprofen, so I'm wondering if I'm going to slowly have to decrease the does until I'm off it.
Did you notice in decrease in your lung function from stopping it?
Did you have any side effects while on the ibuprofen?
Did you ever consider going back on it after the pregnancy was over?

It's good to know you still took Advair too. That makes me feel better.

Thanks!
